The Murphy’s Bill was initiated after the Sandy Hook massacre. Rather than investigating what kind of treatment (drugs) Adam Lanza was given, it is assumed he didn’t get the proper kind, or enough. Now, some people jump to the conclusion that ALL people diagnosed with mental illnesses should be treated, even if it is against their will.
I wish we could vote on issues such as these, rather than voting for people we don’t know and hoping that THEY will vote the way we want them to. I’m also glad that a bill like this wasn’t made law 30 years ago, back in the days before I had my breakdowns. If I hadn’t been non-compliant, there’s no telling where I’d be today; certainly not a fulfilled wife, mother, and grandmother.
